FLORENCE, Ala. - The University of North Alabama is the lead sponsor of this year's regional March of Dimes walk-a-thon fundraiser, Shoals March for Babies, UNA president Dr. William G. Cale has announced.
"Premature birth and birth defects affect nearly one out of every six babies born here in north Alabama," Cale said. "That is why UNA is proud to help raise money through March of Dimes for much-needed research and preventative care." Cale is encouraging UNA faculty and staff and anyone from the community to form walk teams to participate in the Shoals Walk for Babies fundraiser April 24. The two-mile walk will begin at 9 a.m. at Flowers Hall on the UNA campus.
